Oh I love that you buy up notebooks in case they might stop making them. That happened to a company of French handmade slim notebooks that I had been using for a few years. Good for you for future proofing!

I'm so into talking about office supplies please do more

I dislike pens that don't allow refills. It's such a waste to throw out the whole pen because you ran out of ink! Fun fact, Pilot and other pen companies make the same pens sold as throw aways with cartridges. Check out JetPens! https://www.jetpens.com/Pens/ct/1318

I prefer fountain pens and dip pens. See: https://salmons.blog/2024/08/26/794/

Love this content, so please write more!

And I don’t always do this; but the term you’re looking for is “mother lode,” as in the main vein of the ore you are digging for in the mine. I think the term is very evocative. When you hit the mother lode, you have struck it rich!

Always interested in a conversation about cool office supplies.

Recently, my most favouritest sketchbooks have been discontinued (Moleskine Art Plus Pocket-Size) and I ordered a bunch later realizing they were the watercolour version. I have since discovered the Talens Art Creation sketchbooks which are very similar to my beloved Moleskines but way cheaper!

My current favourite pens are the Pitt Fineliner 0.3 to 0.7.

I did a weekend with 4 other women one time so we could sketch together. Instead we spent the weekend comparing pens, paper, and markers. It was a blast!!

Glad to have further confirmation that Draplin is a gem!

Love all this. I hoard Pilot G2 10’s like they are going out of business. I need a generous flow of ink. Which means I accidentally smudge 1/4 of what I draw. lol.

I absolutely love the hand-written feel to your posts!

P.S. The cheaper the ballpoint pen, the more fun I have (for me, at least).

thank you! and yes, I have a soft spot for cheap ball points. Love the texture they make in the paper when you write really hard!

I love Pitt Pens for art, I wish I had more. And Tombows too.

For writing, my go to pens are either a Bic Cristal ballpoint pen or the Pilot G2 .07.

I loved this post. Back to School sale time is my favorite time of year. All those wonderful supplies to pick and choose from. I had a Trapper Keeper back in the day too.
