We have so much in common, we both love pens and sketchbooks, we love stickers, and talking and not talking. We could not talk or talk forever and still find things to not talk about.
I did a weekend with 4 other women one time so we could sketch together. Instead we spent the weekend comparing pens, paper, and markers. It was a blast!!
Oh I love that you buy up notebooks in case they might stop making them. That happened to a company of French handmade slim notebooks that I had been using for a few years. Good for you for future proofing!
I dislike pens that don't allow refills. It's such a waste to throw out the whole pen because you ran out of ink! Fun fact, Pilot and other pen companies make the same pens sold as throw aways with cartridges. Check out JetPens! https://www.jetpens.com/Pens/ct/1318
Always interested in a conversation about cool office supplies.
Recently, my most favouritest sketchbooks have been discontinued (Moleskine Art Plus Pocket-Size) and I ordered a bunch later realizing they were the watercolour version. I have since discovered the Talens Art Creation sketchbooks which are very similar to my beloved Moleskines but way cheaper!
My current favourite pens are the Pitt Fineliner 0.3 to 0.7.
Love all this. I hoard Pilot G2 10’s like they are going out of business. I need a generous flow of ink. Which means I accidentally smudge 1/4 of what I draw. lol.
I love the Shinola sketchbooks, but $36 apiece plus $13 shipping, ouch! Yes I can see that buying them in bulk would save shipping but it’s still a lot.
And I don’t always do this; but the term you’re looking for is “mother lode,” as in the main vein of the ore you are digging for in the mine. I think the term is very evocative. When you hit the mother lode, you have struck it rich!
YES! Please tell us more favorite tools!!
