2024 in Daily Purchase Drawings
No photo-dumps, no year-end-wraps, no lists. Just 365 Daily Purchase Drawings.
I love looking at all of the year-end photo dumps, book lists, movie lists, lists of intentions, more-and-less lists, in-and-out lists, and lists I haven’t even listed here. I didn’t make any of these lists; instead, I am sharing my 2024 Daily Purchase Drawings with you. Many specific to my family drawings include quasi-rare coins (Hank’s interest is fading), Oz Books (almost done), rebuilding my 90s CD collection (my interest is fading), and other more generic drawings that signify the year's passing (seed packets, swim lessons, summer trips, pumpkin patch tickets, Santa pez dispensers).
2024 was my 18th year of doing this drawing routine, and as I creep closer to 20 years, my mind wanders to how I should commemorate (?) this anniversary, if anything at all. I love this funny collection of line drawings that somewhat tells a story of a life (20 of my 47 years at this point), and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
This year, I hope to make more zines with other people, focusing on documenting their collections and the stories of their stuff. I also hope to make more clunky ceramics. And more paintings, drawings, and prints! And continue the colorful collaboration with Leland at Outlet.
I also loved creating a writing routine for this blog and look forward to continuing this in 2025.
Happy 2025, all! Let’s do this!
Kate you are a national treasure, and as someone who is lucky to live in the same city as you I find myself wishing, could 20 years be an art show???
I can't wait to collaborate with you in 2025, and omg, I wish someone would get all your daily drawings tattooed as sleeves. Manifesting that visual here.
